just two days from now we'll all be stuffing our faces with that delicious homemade turkey and dressing, sweet potato and green bean casserole, sweet corn, sister schubert rolls, and my favorite, macaroni and cheese (just to name a few...) all of which we probably wouldn't even eat by themselves or on any other day. this is what i think of when i think of THANKSGIVING. feasting. how much can i stuff into my mouth at once? how many pounds can i gain in just one day? who can eat the most contests?
but it's quite sad isn't it.... thanksgiving is supposed to be about giving "thanks", duh. be thankful for
the little things God has been so gracious to bless us with. so here are a few things i'll be thankful for this year:
3. i'm thankful for my school.
i am not even able to fathom the blessing it's been to attend a school like
Samford University.
sure it's not harvard or yale but really, who cares. in my opinion it's better.
we don't realize how fortunate we are to be able to choose an education for ourselves
so i'll say a thank you for the opportunity not only to attend a beautiful campus,
with great people and caring teachers,
but a thanks for the privilege
to expand my knowledge and to keep learning
so long as my heart(brain) desires(can take).
2. i'm thankful for my friends.
the one's i left behind at home,
and the one's i've made in college.
1. most of all i'm thankful for my family.
living 15 hours away isn't easy, but
the distance has seem to have brought us closer.
isn't that ironic
of course, this only a fraction of what i'm thankful for.
