BREAK

Sometimes I find it really hard to keep up with my blog posts.....

As much as I would love to post every single day, it's really just impossible. Ever feel like you're just behind on life? Because I do. Being a college student can be so difficult. It's hard to keep up with school work while trying to maintain somewhat of a social life.. Unfortunately I never leave time for myself these days. I've learned this is a hazardous thing to do. It's important to give myself a little "me time". Talk to God, read a book, just think, or do something productive(like clean my room). So over spring break I'm going to be concentrating on me. I won't be posting anything until after because frankly, this blog adds to my already overflowing bottle of stress. Taking some time to clear my head will be good. Everyone needs a break sometimes. But everyone have a happy spring break and whether you're at the beach or just at home, take some time to get to know yourself. You may find you're a lot more interesting than you thought!

Sooo, sometimes we find really cool stuff in Birmingham.
Ever find yourself sitting in your room thinking to yourself, OH EM GEE there is literally nothing to do in this city.
Yeah...me too. But seriously, there is so much! Wherever you are there are always those little hole in the wall restaurants, knick-knack stores, and basically just cool stuff. All you have to do is get your ass up out of the bed and go find them. Last weekend, Allyn and I spent the day wondering around 5 Points, an area of downtown Birmingham. Over the past few months we've visited many popular places located in the general area but never really did our own exploring. SO last Saturday came as a nice surprise when we found local artists doing their THANG on the streets, a LEGIT record store, and not to mention some local protesters. This really made me appreciate the little delights of the 205 and definitely motivated future exploring.

Free Palestine.... Alright, I'm sure.

best friends make the best valentines

For that day yesterday best friend and I decided to go road trippin' to Montgomery, AL. A short little day trip but filled with unexpected adventure that made for a great February 14, 2011.

WE...
Did some goose chasing at Shakespeare Park

Visited Grace Episcopal Church. If you have a fascination/obsession with church architecture then this place is for you. Not to mention the backyard playground with a tree house and rope swing :)

Ate some Tomatinos, YUM :)
But of course, ended the day with a lovely gift from a wonderful boy.
Meet, Artie.

botany

This weekend best friends, Miranda and Allyn, along with our lovely friend-boy's went on somewhat of a triple date to the Botanical Gardens. Even though it's the dead of winter and all the plants are dead, it was still sunny and we found ways to enjoy one of God's beautiful LITTLE GIFTS called nature.

gettin crafty

In honor of everyone's favorite holiday(PAH!) coming up best friend, Miranda, and I decided to get crafty. Insipired by Chrsitina Perri's song Jar of Hearts, we made our own "jars of hearts".

On our handmade hearts are quotes, reminders, words, and anything about anything that reminds us of love. Of course this is an on going creation to keep memories, thoughts, ideas, quotes, and realizations bottled up forever and ever. And...it's just cool. SO if you love our little art project and want to be a copy cat here are some simple instructions and needed materials.

What you'll need:
  • jar
  • red and white construction paper
  • scissors
  • markers
  • brain, books, computers, memories
Instructions:
  1. Gather anything and everything that defines love to you(everyone has their own personal definition)
  2. draw a heart on your paper; any size will do
  3. write your love down
  4. put it in the jar
WOW that was easy.
